Heritage Skill Workshops

Our workshops are Taught by Master Blacksmith Terry Bailey. Terry isn't like any other blacksmith. With an impressive academic background featuring a BSc in Archaeology, MSc in Dendrochronology, and a PhD in Astrophysics, Terry has dedicated over 30 years of his life to the practice of blacksmithing and farrier work. When he moved to Canada in 2010 with his family to retire, he found himself quickly preoccupied with commissions. In 2016 Terry was inspired once again to do what he loved—teaching blacksmithing—at Foxfire Heritage Farm. His passion for blacksmithing is evident, and his students consistently find themselves mesmerized by the knowledge and experience shared from such an accomplished blacksmith. With Terry's guidance, anyone can now build up their blacksmithing skills and create something truly special.
